The simple reason for this is because it has a pleasant scent. During the spring and summer, I really like wearing L’eau D’Issey, a fragrance I’ve had in my nightstand for years. However, I use it all year round.
When you first spritz L’eau D’Issey on your skin, you’ll notice how well the citrus and spice elements mix together. The first presentation of this scent is the portion I dislike the most. It’s a hit with certain folks, but I’m not one of them. While the scent of Issey is first a little harsh, the dryness of its woods, spices, and tobacco make it a much more pleasant experience overall. As a result, the final product has an entirely distinct scent unlike anything else on the market.
Issey Miyake’s real enchantment occurs when the perfume settles and truly reveals itself.
The perfume of Issey Miyake Pour Homme is really vivid. Like a spring or summer day, it exudes a sense of warmth and happiness. Even though it smells so similar, I haven’t come across any other male fragrance that smells just like this.
Citrus takes centre stage, followed by spice, and finally a musky, woody undertone. Light Blue, for example, falls into the same group of fragrance.
Nutmeg and tarragon are added to the yuzu and lemon. It’s a little spicy, but not too much. For me, the spice fades and the citrus isn’t as pronounced as it was when it was fresh.
There are traces of floral notes, mostly lotus, while the wood notes (cedar and sandalwood) begin to emerge. Not my favourite flower, but it’s OK in this setting. Despite the fact that the musk is clearly discernible, the mix stays crisp and free of musky sludge.
The citrus and the wood tones are my favourite parts of this dish. During the dry down phase, L’eau D’Issey shines, whilst the first act is only OK.
The variety of this fragrance is what I find most appealing. It works for me year-round, although I’ve already said how much I like it in the summer. The fact that I live in a humid zone necessitates the use of a scent that can withstand the hot, humid days of spring and summer.
Being that I have so many winter-only scents, this may be an excellent backup for when the weather becomes hot and humid.
It’s a scent you can wear to the office, school, or even out on the town. Designed to be more casual and everyday, yet it surely entices ladies to come closer.
To be honest, this is not even my favourite fragrance, but I’ve received so many compliments on it that I’m losing count. It seems to function, therefore I have no reason to be dissatisfied. It’s not seductive, but it’s manly and attractive.
You’ll notice a crisp, clear freshness with a familiar flavour profile, but with just enough variances to set it apart.
